What is Design?
We have experience design in every aspect of our lives, yet not always are we aware of this fact.
There are things that are designed in an organic way; we can find this in nature and experience this intentional way of being with our senses.
Other things, artificial things, are made by humans, persons, not smarter than us. We can learn to design too. We know what we need and what we want, but we don't always craft the solution to make it happen.
Creation is a powerful skill. We should learn to empower it and master it, to craft our own craving solutions and make a dent in the world. But it requires intention. Perfection. Learn from mistakes. It can be devastating to notice that the thing we just created is not really working out as we initially thought. But if we can't stare at our own failure and take accountability, we can't really improve and learn from our mistakes, and therefore we shall remain ignorant and helpless. No. This is not what we are made for.
We must embrace the burden of our mistakes to make them right. Try it again. Try a different way, a better way, with help, with purpose, with intention. And only then will we become proud of our creation enough to share it with those who may also need it.
Connecting with other people, in a deeply profound human way embedded in our nature. We do this because we are made this way by design, and we design because we are capable of love. Made it by design, made it by love.
